Scripps Proton Therapy Center

San Diego, CA

AT A GLANCE

The Scripps Proton Therapy Center was envisioned by the team at Advanced Particle Therapy (APT), whose sole focus is to deliver cancer treatment centers throughout the U.S. utilizing the latest advances in particle therapy treatment.  This center, in partnership with Scripps Health, features five treatment rooms including three rotational gantries and two fixed-beam applications.

The project involved the coordination and integration of the German-based proton therapy equipment from Varian Medical Systems.  The Scripps Proton Therapy Center will be the first U.S. proton treatment project for Varian which required tremendous collaboration between the building design team and the equipment provider.

Signet plays an expansive and diverse role in the development of the Scripps Proton Therapy Center.  They lead the project management team which handles all development activities and construction management as a joint venture with Advanced Particle Therapy.

Signet also provides financial structuring and sourcing for develo9pment and operation capital for the center.  This 102,500 square foot center of excellence treated its first patient in February, 2014.
